First BEESst meeting of the semester, September 2014.

The BEES Student Taskforce (BEESst) is the student-run side of the BISI-BEES concentration area.

We are a graduate student organization at the University of Maryland, College Park, whose goal is to address program issues, support students, and foster a sense of community through social and outreach events. BEESst serves all graduate students at UMD whose research falls into the areas of behavior, ecology, evolution, or systematics; however, its support programs for new students are restricted to the Biological Sciences program.

We help organize weekly research seminars, organismal biology day, Maryland Day events, recruitment, and new student mentoring. We administer two student awards, and host a student-only seminar series in cooperation with the Entomological Student Organization which provides an informal and relaxed forum for students to discuss their research.

This page serves as the virtual headquarters for BEESst and all documents related to BEESst activities.
